Fabulous #ASPC2023 presentation that made me think about the researcher role. We often talk about amplifying the voices of lived experience experts, but perhaps we need to be thinking how we can create space or facilitate 'meaningful listening' in government.

It’s a wrap- thanks #ASPC2023 for a great conference. Inspiring speakers, stimulating discussions, a lolly bar and lucky door prizes! Standout were the contributions from lived experience experts throughout. Now back to work, because if we change nothing, nothing changes.

Wonderful and insightful work by Sophie Wright-Pedersen and coauthors. Children's perspectives can add so much to food and nutrition research - supporting their active participation and sharing the best ways of doing this is so important. And the evidence for #BasicIncome just keeps on piling up as the many pilot projects around the country release their reports. This data is from Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, the neighborhood where Dr. King grew up, where hundreds of Black women are being provided $850 a month for

Childhood #trauma can have an #intergenerational impact, but not always. Some children are biologically more susceptible than others. Check out our recent paper examining how #epigenetic differences may explain these differences in susceptibility: cambridge.org/core/journals/…

Quality parenting support reduces violence toward children and improves child outcome but a new study found only 26% of govts have policies to enshrine this. It makes economic sense, it's make a human impact. Why do we not invest more in this? sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Brilliant thread summarising all the reasons why we should have a UBI. With Foodbank Australia’s data on the huge increase in food insecurity just released, what are we waiting for?

Super excited for Jeffrey So, PhD his work is so important and illuminating the experiences of #fathers who are grappling with #foodinsecurity either on their own or with their partners - his second one is on its way so keep a look out for that one!
