Come study diverse literature in schools in Wales with me, in Communication & Culture, at Aston Uni. V. strong preference for a Welsh speaker (could consider fluent French & Spanish, other MFL, in Wales instead). Please spread the word! 🏴 Education Bangor Uni - Addysg Prifysgol Bangor findaphd.com/phds/project/d…

This sounds like a fantastic research opportunity 👇 with Dr Sarah Olive at Aston University #teamenglish

Such a pleasure to talk about Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire, as modern American drama, at an A-level English study day at Aston University Engineering Academy today. Drilling deep into things like the play's "casual" multilingualism. English at Aston University Aston University

Since Christmas, I've had my head stuck in children's & YA Shakespeare biofiction for a book chapter. About twice the number pictured here. First full draft finished today! Look out for these texts the next time I teach #RewritingShakespeare English at Aston University Research-led teaching.

300 teachers are here English at Aston University Aston University, first thing on a Saturday morning for #LitDriveCPD25. Litdrive UK's Nikki Carlin & Kat Howard kicked the day off & thanked HoD Marcello Giovanelli for support + the whole English teaching community.

Giving #LitdriveCPD25 a practical guide to stylistics, it's English at Aston University HoD Marcello Giovanelli, reminding us why to choose stylistic approaches (literature is made of language) & sharing a 5 point plan for how to start using it with texts.

Collected a passenger from #Betws-y-Coed station. Never been there before. Followed a fingerpost sign from main road to a car park to wait in car for 10 mins for the train. £60 fine from Initial Parking ... it was a back car park, not owned by the station apparently. 🎂 #Shakespeare's birth(death)day. Well-marked by finally catching Donmar Warehouse #Macbeth with Cush Jumbo & David Tennant. A breath of fresh, 'delicate' air ... no overwrought kinks, a lovely interpretation of 'come, come give me your hand' & use of stage as banqueting table.

The second event in Aston's Research Centre for the Humanities series 'Balancing Academic & Creative Writing' today featured English at Aston University's very own Stephen Pihlaja on turning short to long form, manuscript & electronic into 🤞print, blog to memoir. Crossing & connecting cultures & readerships came up lots.
