Genomic data quality, completeness, and standards are critical to inform public health. We are very excited to collaborate with @phaa4ge and NCBI to train data curators across the continent. alan christoffels Simon Harris Mastercard Foundation Gates Foundation

🚨 World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the #mpox outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. To support public health labs, the @PHA4GE PipeViz WG created a living document on key challenges & open-source tools for #mpox analysis. #genomics #publichealth pha4ge.org/resource/bioin…

Today the Africa CDC in collaboration with the INRB Pathogen Genomic Lab - INRB started a regional training for lab experts from 7 countries. The training is focused on #Mpox testing, sequencing, and sharing. Regional collaboration is key for mpox response. #AfricaPGI Placide Mbala

Expanding mpox testing and sequencing should be prioritized and accelerated. We are leveraging and building on #AfriacPGI partnerships, national and regional capacities, collaborations, systems, and networks. #AfricaCDC Gates Foundation Illumina EU HERA Pathogen Genomic Lab - INRB

It’s great to see the Africa CDC PGI and Pathogen Genomic Lab - INRB supporting the regional fight back against mpox. Such an inspiring, collaborative network.

Great pleasure to work with Wei Shen 沈 伟 on a new indexing and alignment scheme, called LexicMap: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We have been working on uniformly reassembling, QC-ing and annotating all bacterial (+ now archaeal) data, & wanted to be able to do full alignment to it....

Sensitive and modular amplicon sequencing of Plasmodium falciparum diversity and resistance for research and public health - exellent work by Bryan Greenhouse Andrés Aranda-Díaz and team 👏 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We are running a massive online open course on AMR databases starting end of the month. Its completely free, study at your own pace and its ~15 hours overall over the 3 weeks (although you can finish any time in a year). Please spread in your networks! …erences.wellcomeconnectingscience.org/event/antimicr…

Check out our latest blog from Dr. Inês Mendes and Dr. Bryan A. Wee, members of the Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology . They show how ‘bad data’ can be made more valuable by tagging them with information about their potential issues. microb.io/3Xrg9kH

It's happening again!
