On the 2nd anniversary of South East Wales (SEW) Cancer of Unkown Primary (CUP) Service, we launched our first CUP Business Case meeting. Amazing teamwork! positively buzzing, the region united in one key goal to improve cancer outcomes in this patient group.

2 years on from this video being made, CUP has dropped from 4th to 5th, and now 6th commonest cause of cancer death. Increased awareness, early diagnostics, prompt intervention and access to trials have all contributed. Shout out to all CUP champions within and outside Wales!

Weekends should be relaxing, right? Well some weekends are not! Ikigai Karate Cardiff versus London club competition. Received silver medal, and a cup for 3 distinctions in grading exams! London won, but great fight from Cardiff! Getting ready for Black Belt exams!

Late post...feel humbled to be nominated in three separate categories at Velindre NHS University Trust's Employee Excellence Awards. Suffice to say I feel overwhelmed and emotional. All the long hours, the blood, sweat and tears...do you know what, it's totally worth it!!

We did it! graduated as Black Belts in Ikigai Karate. Roller coaster ride through pandemic to 1st Dan! Best part- I did it with my 12 year old buddy, my daughter, Megh. Step by step, exam by exam, we were in it together, through thick and thin!
