🚨OFFICIAL STATEMENT 🚨 Cardiff Referee’s Society stands against all forms of abuse towards match officials. After recent events we as a society will take a stand this weekend. Our thoughts continue to be with one of our members after the events of last weekend.

Wow. This is the action that referees don't want to take, so as the statement says, the abuse of referees in and around Cardiff is a major concern. Referees do not want to withdraw labour, but clearly this situation is not sustainable and the abuse is becoming more of an issue.

Unfortunately, I've heard so many accounts like this over the time we have been researching the abuse of #sportofficials. A volunteer, trying to help so a group of u13 children can play #football is threatened - the behaviour of some individuals in sport never ceases to amaze me
