I love Noisy Snacks beef-flavour broad beans, but thought this pack I bought on Friday in Craigavon Tesco tasted rather stale. No wonder! Look at the best before date - July 13. I was going to put 'em out for the crows, but they're so old I'd be afraid of attracting dinosaurs!

It's a pleasure to be teaching Irish to this lovely group of American students from Taylor University in Indiana. They're here in Northern Ireland with Stranmillis University College as part of the Study Abroad scheme. They're an absolute delight to teach. Go n-éirí leo. Happy #StPatricksDay!

In Japan, this is Hanami season, where people go out to admire the flowers, especially the cherry trees. But we have Hanami in Lurgan too, and I'm always taken by the magnificent cherry tree in the grounds of St John's Parish Church in Lurgan. Here it is in its Palm Sunday glory!

Delighted to see this! I know there will be grumblers, but Irish belongs to everyone. You don't have to change faith, allegiance or politics to appreciate our shared linguistic heritage. And I know that as a Unionist who speaks and teaches Irish. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

There's never a bad time to repost this little reminder that Irish belongs to everyone. With all the same old tropes being trotted yet again, today seems especially appropriate. Irish belongs to all - Protestant, Catholic and Black-mouthed dissenter!

Beannachtaí na Cásca! It's pronounced 'ban-ach-tee nah kaska' and means Happy Easter in Irish. The Wooden Window People have really gone to town this time! May your Easter be blessed, peaceful and joyful.

I cannot believe it's six years to the day my Mum passed away. As I do every year, I'll repost this little tribute to her. She loved music, and later I'll play a few of her favourite tunes and songs in her memory.

Comhgairdeas! Congratulations to my Irish Beginners’ class at Dundonald High School who have just been awarded their Cúpla Focal badges and certificates by Turas Belfast. Thanks to Stephen Carson, who came along to do the presentation. As we say, "Tús maith, leath na hoibre."
