It is tempting to say "I don't want to play the what ifs game." But the reality is that no chess game was ever won without gaming things out. Engaging the "what ifs" is mission critical for planning.

The indictments of @Santos4Congress are also an indictment of Congress. The fact that such a sociopath won and was seated speaks horribly of the quality of that body. His financials crimes appear not only blatant and egregious, but also really dumb.

Yes, the Christian Conservative legislator clearly mistook a mirror for a window when he looked out and saw dangerous sexual predators.

Unconscious bias infects us all. Anyone who thinks they have no biases is wrong. Worse, failing at introspection ensures that biases will come out, often harmfully and without awareness. Teachers and doctors must face and account for their biases if they are to be effective.

When you mix religion and government, you cheapen both. Texas has passed a law to allow school districts to replace *certified* counselors with *uncertified* chaplains. The law places no restrictions on proselytizing. We need mental health supports for students, not evangelists.

Austin's school district police force of 80+ mental health certified officers support students as they protect against outside threats. New Texas law requires an armed person in every school, but w/o funding. We asked for mental health supports. Texas said no, just add guns.
