Hi Justin Trudeau — thanks for funding CEPI, the United Nations appeal, and for all 🇨🇦 is doing to stop #COVID19 and #PlankTheCurve. Will Canada give new funds to @Gavi to deliver vaccines and save lives in the poorest countries? We’re all in this together as #GlobalCitizens.

President Trump’s decision to defund WHO is simply this—a crime against humanity. Every scientist, every health worker, every citizen must resist and rebel against this appalling betrayal of global solidarity. nytimes.com/2020/04/14/us/…

Dear Dr Tony Fauci—President Trump yesterday alleged WHO was guilty of “covering up” the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. He claimed that WHO “failed to obtain, vet, and share information.” You know these statements are untrue. Please correct your President. Please be on the side of truth.

Was the undermining of WHO justified? Not at all, according to this careful account. via @NYTimes nytimes.com/2020/04/16/hea…

Are World Health Organization (WHO) attacks a pretext for undermining international governance on tobacco, pollution, essential medicines, marketing junk food and breast milk substitutes and pushing a raft of other commercial interests? @mdavisqlder PHAA is on Bluesky

In conversation with someone who had a ringside seat for many years, the dysfunctional relationship of bitter rivalry between Public Health England, NHS England, academia, and the private sector was a major cause of England’s failed response to this pandemic. Yet no discussion.

Dear President Trump - You cite The Lancet in your attack on WHO. Please let me correct the record. The Lancet did not publish any report in early December, 2019, about a virus spreading in Wuhan. The first reports we published were from Chinese scientists on Jan 24, 2020.

Pr Trump claims we published reports in Dec 2019 claiming a virus was spreading in Wuhan. Untrue. The first paper describing 41 patients with COVID-19 was published on Jan 24. That paper identified symptom onset of the first Wuhan patient as Dec 1. No cover up. Full transparency.

If everyone who has been grateful for the NHS over the past 75 years followed and retweeted we’d reach a million by midnight. Please take just two seconds to show you care.
