New paper from my fantastic colleague @xliu_bmic. Congrats Xilin! Edge deep learning for neural implants: a case study of seizure detection and prediction doi.org/10.1088/1741-2… via IOPscience

And we're off! 🚀 Session 1 of #NatConfNeuroengineering is underway, and there is so much more to cover over the next 2 days! You can still join, registration will close tomorrow! conferences.nature.com/Neuroengineeri… Nature Materials Nature Nanotechnology Nature Biomedical Engineering

My colleague Drew Drew Richardson and I are presenting a poster at the #NatConfNeuroengineering on edge deep learning for neural implants. For more info about this work, please also refer to our recent publication in the Journal of Neural Engineering doi.org/10.1088/1741-2…

Just published by my colleagues (Jan Van der Spiegel et al)! Analog unsupervised spike sorting using clockless, ADC-less chip. Check out the perturbed K-means algorithm to automatically remove duplicate clusters. ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/94176…

Pleased to share new work with Philipp Gutruf on a wireless, battery-free, implantable electrical neurostimulation system, published with Springer Nature. #neurotech #brainstim rdcu.be/ctYP1

Interesting: Philipp Gutruf & colleagues demonstrate a fully implantable, wireless, battery-free platform that allows for chronic deep brain stimulation in rodents with the capability to control stimulation parameters digitally in real time nature.com/articles/s4137…

Many thanks to the incredible team of collaborators who made this work possible: Flavia Vitale, Yury Gogotsi John Medaglia Drew Richardson @SGullbrand @katedavis12341 and others not on Twitter! Also to Ella Marushchenko for the beautiful cover art! Penn Bioengineering University of Pennsylvania Neurology Drexel Materials

Excited to receive my first Discovery grant from NSERC / CRSNG supporting my work in developing neuroelectronics for the next 5 years. Many thanks to the reviewers and my collaborators. I am looking for PhD and MASc students to join my team ECE U of T Let’s build some awesome chips!
