Society is collapsing, governments are burning down, and the world is so tightly wound up that we're on the verge of global war and yet...I still find happiness in something as simple as planting carrot, cabbage, and radish seeds.

I'm heartbroken and I'm incapable of processing this. Charlie Kirk was killed today. I used to pray for peace, now I pray for victory. The United States shifted today. God please be with the Kirk family.

My coffee just doesn't taste the same this morning. As much as I want to 'woe is me' I know there's a family waking up this morning without a husband and father. I'm still trying to process it all and the words to describe it escape me.

Calm and quiet reflection this morning. For everyone's sake, take the time to be with the people you love and less staring at your phone obsessed with social media and concerned about the opinions of strangers. Thank you Lord for this day.

One of my Orpington hens, Suzanne Sugarbaker, pecked my eye this afternoon. I did not enjoy that.

YOU advocated for this. You are quite literally reaping what you have sown. This is the fruits of your labor. This is what you wanted. Why cry about it now? You were warned that this beast would turn on you but you just couldn't believe it. Your bed is made, lie in it.

Ran out of planting space and it was time to add a new bed anyway. Another baby step in creating my dream garden. Sure is a lot of work for some turnips but with the way things are going...I'll be glad that I have this growing space.
