While most of my career has been at the secondary level, I understand the importance of strong articulation with our elementary colleagues. Transforming school district academic outcomes means we must start by ensuring a healthy instructional pipeline from elementary school.

Passionate and results-oriented leaders are a great equalizer when discussing successful organizations. I have the pleasure of working with some outstanding leaders. I am confident that together we will get the results for students that they deserve.

I was told early in my career: "The higher one ascends in the field of education, the less the conversation remains about students." Perhaps that's the problem. Let's stay connected to students and continue to engage in complex and sometimes unpopular discussions on their behalf

Celebrating the career of Dr. Judy Docca, a long time Montgomery County Public Schools colleague, friend and my former assistant principal in high school. Thank you Dr. Docca for your impact on my life. I am just one of many fruits of your labor.

School visits are always an excellent opportunity to build relationships with school leaders. It is even better when you have the Student Member of the Board Roah Hassan visiting to support our work in schools. Thank you Ms. Hassan. Koneisha Robinson Barbara Murray Ryan Warfel

Leaders are always in a posture of learning. Had the honor of sitting under the tutelage of this world-renowned teacher, leader, and founder of Research For Better Teaching (RBT) for a refresher on analyzing teaching and learning . Thank you, Dr. Saphier, for modeling the way.

Great leaders are great communicators. Nothing like being in a room with highly respected individuals who can help you sharpen your skills. This year's Influence Conference in Aurora, Colorado, was outstanding. Great people, great connections, great content, great learning.

Flying home from a speaking engagement thinking about the importance of being fearless. Students, particularly our most marginalized, don't have time for leaders who lead from a posture of defense and passivity. Let's continue to stay bold and courageous in our leadership.

A great reminder that our work as leaders is predicated on our ability to build and make connections across all aspects of the organization. Encouraging all of us to stay focused on the most important component to achieving results: the people. gse.harvard.edu/ideas/usable-k…

A reminder during my morning walk and meditation. Instead of asking God to remove us from a situation, sometimes we need to ask him to give us strength for the journey. All things work together... Romans 8:28 Be encouraged, everyone!

I am grateful for the invitation to speak at our Black Boy Joy and Genius conference. I facilitated sessions on Entrepreneurship and Leadership, encouraging these young men to make an impact as leaders and business owners in their community—a great part of my job!
