DSO medal group to Lt. Col. Hodgkin. He commanded the 2/5th & 2/6th Battalions of the Sherwood Foresters during the 1916 Rising in Dublin. His troops closed the cordon on the GPO and Moore Street and later formed the firing parties for some of the executed Republican leaders

Kathleen Clarke’s membership card for American Association for recognition of the Irish Republic. Her husband Thomas J. Clarke was the first signatory of the 1916 Proclamation and after the Rising he was executed in Kilmainham Jail on the 3rd May 1916.

Sir Matthew Nathan was Under Secretary for Ireland at the time of the 1916 Rising. This March 1916 invoice for vegetables for the Under Secretaries Lodge in the Phoenix Park was receipted in June 1916 at a time when he had already resigned & left Ireland after the 1916 Rising.

1914 dated printed items from the City of Dublin Branch of the British Red Cross Society regarding setting up an Emergency Hospital in Dublin Castle for wounded soldiers. Ironically James Connolly would later be treated there prior to his execution for his role in the 1916 Rising

Collection of Irish War of Independence letters & postcards sent to James Mallon while he was interned in Ballykinlar prison camp from his wife in Dublin. James fought in the 1916 Rising, War of Independence and later served in the National Army.

John W Elvery served with D Company 7th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers in WW1 and later as a Director & Chairman of the sports firm Elvery’s. He died in Dublin in 1964 aged 80. The painted sign hung over one of the firms Dublin shops in the 1960’s.

Various calibre ammunition and fuse casings recovered from the site of the Pigeon House Fort in Ringsend, Dublin. They are displayed on a plate, presumed to be from the officers mess in the fort. Only the left hand side of the forts entrance arch remains to this day.
