Try not to lose your head! So I'm parking #gamedev of this element of the game for a bit. I can feel myself starting to procrastinate with it so time for a change and come back later. #indiegamedev #godotengine #godot4

Just starting porting this wee fleshless warrior from my old unity project in to my bright shiny #godotengine project. Will definitely repaint sometime but right now I want a few more monster types wandering around! #indiegamedev #gamedev #indiedev

It's alive.. alive..! This monster dropped in to the game relatively painlessly. A wonderfully predictable skeleton warrior(!). The foot soldiers of a dungeon. I want to implement some tactical traits, may be some flanking behaviours. #indiegamedev #godotengine #gamedev #arpg

We all know opening a Tomb is generally a recipe for a bad experience - Just ask Rene Belloq ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh wait, didn't he see the light and was vaporized? Tomb opening animation and shaders therein. Need to add some sound effects and try it in the game! #indiegamedev #madewithgodot

Yay! Good #sunday #indiegamedev day! Here's is the tomb in the game with sound effects and monster spawn triggers. ๐Ÿ”Š #madewithgodot #godotengine

This place may be magical, but there are hidden depths... An earlier look at ancient barrow (in the early stages of procedural generation coding). #indiegamedev #madewithgodot #gamedev #solodev #godot4

That #indiegamedev feeling when you have just spent 2 weeks on perf refactoring. Honing your "work of art" code to strip out, multi-task and process the bare essentials. You run it and see it RUNNING SLOWER! Your 60fps "mostly" masterpiece now barely hitting 30 fps! ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ญ

It's been a while since I've posted some progress on this #godotengine game. But I'm feeling pretty stoked right now with it! Procedurally generated, this underground dungeon area quite literally 'Rocks'! #gamedev #indiegamedev #godot4 #madewithgodot

An attempt at a half decent water shader. Uses vertex deformation for waves (really!? ๐Ÿ˜œ), a whirlpool and up to 16 ripple sources (for things floating). Chatgpt prompt as a starter, but refactored over 80% of the shader code (good learning though). #godotengine #indiegamedev

And in the game... I need to procrastinate and endlessly tweak this water (the edges need to be a bit more foamy for me), but I'm pretty happy with these murky wet death traps. #godotengine #indiegamedev #indiedev #dungeon

Why the water? Well there are some vast rooms in these dungeons that will be navigable by vessels of various forms the exhibit both safety and danger (...aka "boss" type entities). (Started making these over a year ago! ๐Ÿ˜€) #godotengine #indiegamedev #indiedev #dungeon

๐ŸŽถ You spin me right round baby right round... ๐ŸŽถ Refining the movable whirlpool feature. Once again, pretty pleased with this evenings #indiegamedev efforts. I think #godotengine is starting to sink in and made this pretty comfortably (mostly shader work tbh). #godot4

๐ŸŽถOut of the sun (Under the boardwalk) we'll be havin' some fun..๐ŸŽถ ...And in the game proper! An initial iteration of some procedurally generated piers (boardwalks). #godot4 #indiegamedev #indiedev #madewithgodot

Yeah boy, that's totally buoyant! Watched a video, learnt new tricks with synchronisation of GPU and physics on CPU, and... I've got things floating on the noisy water. So excited about sailable vessels going now. Whoop! #godot4 #madewithgodot #indiegamedev #godotengine

Duckocide Games (@duckocide) 's Twitter Profile Photo

๐ŸŽถWhat shall we do with a drunken sailor...๐ŸŽถ Yay, the buoyancy physics approach works for the big stuff as well as the little stuff! It's totally unfinished but this ship is pretty big on the aft section (just not visualised). #godot4 #madewithgodot #indiegamedev #indiedev

Been a while but I've been down a rat hole of generalising controls, wheel and levers against physics forces and floating objects. However, I'm emerging from the conundrum and sailing the high dungeon seas! #godotengine #gamedev #indiegamedev youtu.be/Y2KsrPuJJCY
