As families and businesses go back to work next week, the nation’s unions - emboldened by the support of the Labour government they helped install - plan to get on with strikes and holding the economy to ransom. Labour must shelve its union-inspired (Un)Employment Bill now.

Labour are battering our great British hospitality industry. Terrible stats from the latest @UKHOfficial survey👇 ❌ More than half have cut staff numbers. ❌ 73% have less than six months of cash reserves. 20% have none at all. ❌ 79% have been forced to increase prices.

The Jobs Tax is hitting young workers the hardest, and Labour have utterly failed to reform welfare and help get young people off benefits and into work. I spoke to The Sun 👇🏻 thesun.co.uk/news/36392328/…

DEBT SHOCK! Labour promised growth but, having botched welfare reform, and spent and borrowed like there's no tomorrow, the only thing growing is the UK's national debt. Only look if you’re sitting down:  debt-clock.org

I traveled to Skegness this week and met with key players in the tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors who told me about the opportunities and challenges facing their businesses - particularly since the increase in National Insurance that Rachel Reeves brought in at last

We rely on international investors to lend us money by buying government debt. If they don’t see a strong economy or a government committed to paying back its debts, they will charge a higher interest rate. This is what’s happened to those rates since Labour came in.👇🏻 (2/6)

This is not just tracking wider global trends. Our bond yields are higher than any other G7 country and the highest in all of Western Europe (with the exception of Iceland!). No other major western economy is paying such a high price to borrow. This is a UK problem. (3/6)

📉 77% of hospitality firms are in debt, FSB’s ⁦Craig Beaumont⁩ told ⁦BBC Breakfast⁩. So how do you get money in? It was great to see the Government tackle late payments in the Small Business Plan, but now need action on business rates and National Insurance rises.

We said Starmer’s deal was a ‘tiny tariff’ agreement, not a proper trade deal. This below - together with the lack of protection for UK life science companies and other sectors - is precisely why. Don’t waste time on Chagos, sort this! 👇

Economists warn we could be heading for a 1970s style cliff edge, as more tax rises come this Autumn. All because Labour’s only answer is spend more and tax more. When will they realise, the ONLY answer is to live within our means and cut spending.

Britain is suffering from Labour’s corrosive economic policies. Britain must reduce public spending and Labour must stop attacking employers, businesses and hard-pressed families across the country with their reckless tax and spend policies. telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/…
