Met up with friends in Windsor over the summer and saw Lily painting 🎨 — inspired me to finally try painting Gerfalcon. First attempt didn’t go well though… forgot to buy an eraser ✏️ and couldn’t get the boat’s stern right. Will have another go soon!

Here’s my second go at painting Gerfalcon ⛵️. A little better this time, but I’m definitely too shaky for drawing — straight horizontal lines are a nightmare. YouTube hasn’t helped either… 😅

Today we are flying our station flag at half mast as a mark of respect to Adrian Willyson Brask of the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (RS) who made the ultimate sacrifice during a rescue operation on 26th September. His loss is felt deeply by the global SAR community.

Another season comes to a close. What a year 2025 has been; 85th Anniversary Cruise to Ramsgate and Dunkirk, Upper Thames, Traditional Boat Festival at Henley, Classic Boat Festival at St Katharine’s Dock and Veterans Cruise. We have met up friends and made new. Here’s to 2026!

Remembrance is an important moment of the year when we show our support for our Armed Forces. Wearing a poppy and supporting the Royal British Legion is one way to thank the Armed Forces for the sacrifices they continue to make to protect our freedom.

My latest piece: HMS SUSSEX, where my grandfather served aboard in Hong Kong and China — laid on a Union Jack that once flew aboard her. And yes, Gerfalcon makes a cameo 🇬🇧.
