As I flick though the endless Instagram posts I notice how they all claim that satisfaction and happiness come from material things. This is utter bullshit. There isn't anything on the outside that can make you happy. Happiness and satisfaction are inner phenomenon.

The main damage of social media is that it turns all of us into 'bruce almighty' we get to see every prayer, hope, fear, wound, joy, pain, catastrophe, failure, success, violence, love that the entire world has. Yet we are designed to handle only what's in front of us now.

If you take the population of Beverly Hills and drop them off in downtown Karachi, Pakistan, it won't take long for them to turn it into a replica of Beverly hills. They will turn it into what they're used to, what's familiar. The same is true the other way around.
