I met the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar Special Advisory Council for Myanmar together with cabinet members and officials. I am grateful for their insightful, valuable suggestions. I wish them a good holiday season and a happy new year.

I had a meaningful discussion with Igor Driesmans the EU Special Envoy on the successes and challenges of our revolution. We explored ways the EU and the international community can support Myanmar’s journey toward federal democracy. Together, we strive for freedom and justice.

Today, the Prime Minister and I met CC & ICNCC leaders to discuss distribution of revolutionary funds. We stand together as comrades, united in our revolutionary commitment. The Chin people, founding members of our nation, continue to inspire us with their courage and dedication.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of DC and the families and friends of all who were lost in the tragic air collision over the Potomac.

On January 27th, the world commemorated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. As an international community, we must never forget. And we must act decisively to prevent and end genocide everywhere in all its forms.

I join our people’s heartbreak at the catastrophic devastation of yesterday’s earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand. The NUG and its partners are working desperately to reach those still trapped. Thousands are feared dead. Aftershocks threaten further destruction.

We thank our friends for their solidarity. Please – ASEAN, neighbours, UN, international community – urgently deploy cross-border assistance and equipment to the NUG and our ethnic and CSO partners to ensure it reaches all in need. Worst hit areas must be prioritized.

I share my congratulations with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. A profound moment at a time of global uncertainty. The Myanmar people look to the Holy Father for a pontificate of peace and justice, and as a voice for the poor, the marginalised, the displaced and the suffering.
