We are aware of an issue currently where the Solr pod on K8s is restarting arbitrarily resulting in OLS being unresponsive for about 20 minutes until Solr starts up again. We are working actively on resolving it ASAP. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this regard.

The outages OLS4 experienced are related to K8s resource limits. OLS4 itself is highly stable. We have addressed most of the resource issues, but will continue to monitor. For full details subscribe to our email list: listserver.ebi.ac.uk/mailman/listin….

OLS3 is down currently. We are investigating the issue, but it may take some time before we have it up again. This issue with OLS4 this morning was due to resources and has been fixed: github.com/EBISPOT/ols4/i…

We are moving the OLS3 to OLS4 switch over to 13 Nov to allow us time to resolve the OLS4 backend outages. You can read more about it at github.com/EBISPOT/ols4/i….

We are happy to report that the OLS4 critical issue (github.com/EBISPOT/ols4/i…) has been resolved! OLS3 will be switched off on 13 Nov. Please test your application against OLS4 ASAP so that we can deal with any issues ASAP.

We have now completed the change to route OLS3 (/ols/) requests to OLS4 (/ols4/). Thus, all OLS requests should now go to OLS4. If you do encounter any issues, please open a ticket at github.com/EBISPOT/ols4/i… and we will attend to it ASAP.

Maintenance will be done on the EBI High Performance Computing infrastructure from 20 Aug till 22 Aug. OLS will stop data releases from 16 Aug, commencing again on 23 Aug. If you need changes to be available on OLS, ensure to have it available by 13 Aug at the latest.
