🐄Today is #NationalFarmAnimalsDay 🐑 These lead toy animals belonged to Elizabeth and were made by her Grandfather in Grimethorpe in the 1950s. They are now on display in our Stories of Childhood exhibition

#OnThisDay in 1785 Joseph Bramah invented the beer pump handle, cheers! 🍻 In the museum we have a couple of objects by Barnsley's most prolific inventor; a fire pump and one of his unpickable locks.

Today is #WorldBicycleDay which fits in perfectly with the #MovementMW theme of #MuseumWeek This bicycle belonged to the well known Barnsley butcher Albert Hirst who invented the Barnsley Chop which he served to HRH the Prince of Wales when he opened Barnsley Town Hall in 1933
