Our focus book last week was ā€˜Colour monster.’ We have been exploring different emotions and creating different representations of emotions using the loose parts.

We have been busy reading ā€˜ Home’ by Carson Ellis. The children have been creating their own homes, drawing them and writing all about them.

We've been learning about our senses. The children looked at the books. We played 'Guess the object', made playdough and sniffed the 'smelling' pots to find our favourite scents. Chocolate was most popular but vinegar made the children pull some very funny faces!

Hawthorn Class visited We The Curious today. They spent time learning in the rainforest animals and the body workshop. The children explored the rest of the centre, learning new things, working together and persevering to make things work. Such a lovely day!

Hawthorn class have been exploring maps. Today we went on a walk around the village to find human and physical features that are in our village. We found so many different things, the river, the bridge, park, church, postbox, roads, trees, houses and lots more.

Reception children have been exploring the composition of numbers this week. They made numbers 5 to 10 and talked about how they are made of 5 and ā€˜a bit more’. They were able to say that 9 is made of 5 and 4 more and show it using the cubes.

This is why we use Talk Through Stories. Intonation, comprehension, fluency and a passion to read independently! We read this story together 3 weeks ago and it is shared like yesterday. As she rightly tells us ā€˜and that was the whole story’. āļø Pawlett Primary School Academy Ruth Miskin Training

Safer internet day. We talked about the games we like to play using technology. The children discussed how to be safe when using the internet and how some things on the internet are too good to be true.

Today’s music session took place in the park! Exploring environmental and nature sounds. The children transformed into a variety of different animals, roaring, squeaking, bleating and screeching throughout the park.

Little Learners….TO THE RESCUE! We had some runaway evil peas at preschool this week but we were sure to bash, smash and squash them to pieces and trap them in the cornflour. Phew! We re-enacted the story as we learnt and explored all things vegetables! The Huntspill Primary Academies The Priory Learning Trust
