Some of us at ECORISC CDT have contributed to the call for evidence from The Environmental Audit Committee, exploring the effects of climate change in Antarctica, and the role that UK plays in this. Have a read: committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidenc…

This is an example of real world #impact from the ECORISC CDT scientists and #NationalCapability investment. Thanks for this follow up to share with partners like Defra Chief Scientist DefraNature JNCC UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology Natural England to raise awareness.

Imogen Bailes, Lucy Hart, Ola Dosunmu – all PhD students based @LancsUniLec – collaborated with PhD students at other institutions associated with the ECORISC CDT to submit evidence as a part of a parliamentary inquiry into the human impact on the environment in Antarctica.

We are really looking forward to the ECORISC conference in Birmingham in June. There is still time to register for what should be an interesting and informative event on environmental risks of chemicals. More information can be found using the link below ecorisccdt.york.ac.uk/2025-conference

Great presentation by Isabel today at SETAC on her ECORISC CDT PhD project exploring the impact of a plant protection product on aquatic macrophytes and their recovery post-exposure. Department of Environment and Geography

An excellent piece by Phoebe Weston in the Guardian today covering some of our initial findings from the Natural Environment Research Council ECOMIX project on chemical mixtures in Yorkshire's rivers. theguardian.com/environment/20…

We have had a fantastic first day of the ECORISC CDT conference. The presentations were great and we had two excellent interactive sessions. A highlight was Angel Ceballos-Ramirez leading discussions with the aid of his trusty sword.

Day 1 of the ECORISC CDT conference ended with a water tasting activity led by Milin Patel. Yorkshire tap water did particularly well.

A fantastic second day of the ECORISC CDT conference. There were some great talks on rethinking environmental risk and a fun interactive living wall activity.

The ECORISC CDT meeting concluded with a group photo of the first cohort of students who, over the next few months, will be finishing their PhDs. They have all done some fantastic and impactful work in the last 4 years.

One of the many highlights of the ECORISC CDT conference was the four short films from the World Water Film Festival. Thanks so much to Robert Strand (Robert Strand) and Milin Patel (Milin Patel) for facilitating access to the films
