Harsh as it may be, is there a school of thought that the longer Ukraine engages on the battlefield with Russia, the more time we have (i.e. Western Europe) to build up our war defences and more time for depletion of Russia's forces?

Has time come for a United States of Europe? Against American imperialism and our need to defend ourselves from this and any Russian and Chinese advances?
