We’re delighted to participate in the EFAY and European Free Alliance event on the upcoming European elections, and in the seminar about self-determination. Scotland was dragged out of the EU by Westminster - but we will be back to fight for a fairer, more diverse Europe!

Great to be at the European Free Alliance election event in Klagenfurt with the wonderful Spitzenkandidat Maylis Roßberg & EFAY VP Lucas ~ Λουκάς. It’s an important time to explore how we can build a Europe beyond the national states, and how we can deliver more democracy from the bottom up.

Yesterday I finished my mandate as EFAY President. 4 years, 2 bureaus, hundreds of miles traveled, thousands of hours. I don’t have enough words to describe everything EFAY means and it’s given me. I can only say thank you to those who have been part of the journey ❤️

And to Maylis Roßberg enjoy every second of this, I know you will take this organisation to its full potential. You embody perfectly what EFAY stands for, and I couldn’t be more proud and happy of passing on my testimony to you ❤️

The European Center for Minority Issues is an independent and inter-disciplinary research institution, which conducts high-quality and policy-oriented research, provides information and documentation, and offers advisory services concerning minority-majority relations in Europe.

Maylis Roßberg: "We want the EU to accept that it DOES have some responsibility for minority rights. We can't accept that minorities depend on the goodwill of their member state. At the very least, the EU should be setting minimum standards for minority rights."

Today, we are in Aabenraa, where we visit the German minority in Denmark. Our Spitzenkandidatin Maylis Roßberg and our President Lorena López de Lacalle, address the community at the event Democracy for All: Protecting minority rights through the European Citizens’ Initiative.

🇪🇺🫠 ‘United in diversity’. Yet, the Slovenian speaking minority of Austria does not still have all their language rights guaranteed. Our member party Enotna Lista took part in the PETI Committee Press Committee today to denounce this. It’s time for the EU to move on language rights.

This morning we visited the statue of Gotse Delchev, a Macedonian hero with the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria. 🚨 👮🏻‍♂️ We were under close surveillance from the Bulgarian police, a prove of the harassment that the minority faces here everyday!
