On 1 May, Liechtenstein marks 30 years of close cooperation with the #EU through the EEA Agreement. Since 1 May 1995, Liechtenstein has been part of the EEA, bringing all three EEA EFTA States Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway into the EU’s internal market.

This week, a UNECE and International Labour Organization meeting on Consumer Price Indices took place in Geneva. Discussions included new data sources and the modernisation of CPI production. EFTA supported experts from three of its free trade partner countries, Georgia, Morocco and Tunisia.

This week, EFTA and Statistics Iceland organised an online statistical training course on the implementation of R in analysing processes. The workshop was attended by Statisticians from five EFTA partner countries. Thank you to all participants!

On Saturday, EFTA joined in celebrating Europe Day in Echternach. 🇪🇺🎉 At the EFTA stand the public learned about the EFTA Secretariat and enjoyed tasty snacks and drinks from the EFTA countries.

Last week, a high-level seminar for European Neighbourhood Policy East and Central Asian countries on statistics took place in Montenegro. Partners discussed how to best prepare for the future of official statistics. The event was organised by EFTA, EU_Eurostat and UNECE.
