Today we celebrated Europe day in Belgrade with many partners and friends. It is my last Europe day as EU Ambassador to Serbia, but the European Union will continue supporting Serbian people on 🇪🇺 path. Bolji smo zajedno! 🥂

There is a positive momentum for enlargement and a clear opportunity for Serbia to seize it. During my meetings today in Belgrade with President Александар Вучић, PM Macut Serbian Government and Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic, I stressed the importance of progressing towards EU accession

During my visit to Belgrade, I had the opportunity to meet and exchange with representatives of the parliamentary political parties and of the civil society. I hear their concerns and I believe that the best way to address them is through the reforms that are needed for the EU

Good introductory meeting with the new Serbian Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović. Discussed Serbia's EU path, from both technical and political-orientational angles. I stressed the need to deepen the alignment with EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy.

Today with Nemanja Starović and Volodymyr Tolkach we witnessed the departure of energy equipment donated by Serbia to 🇺🇦 and shipped via the 🇪🇺 Civil Protection mechanism. Bojile smo zajedno! Today at the AgriFair in Novi Sad, I cooked pasta Cacio & Pepe, visited 🇪🇺 MS stands & beneficiaries of 🇪🇺 support, including tasty Pirot cheese. The 🇪🇺 is the main partner of🇷🇸 in Agri sector. IPARD III has a 288 M€ just for Serbian farmers. Important it is timely delivered.

My message to the authorities in Belgrade is clear. I want to see Serbia advancing towards the EU. For that, political leaders must deliver the necessary reforms and clarify the strategic direction. This is best done by restoring trust and staying true to democratic principles.

In Belgrade, I talked to engaged members of youth organisations and civil society. I heard their call and their aspirations — for fairness, for accountability. So that Serbia can fulfil its full potential. Their energy is needed to find a way forward.

Congratulations to 🇷🇸 for its inclusion into the Single European Payment Area. This paves the way to smoother and cheaper financial transactions with the 🇪🇺 for citizens and businesses. 👇
