The Sex/Gender Differences PIA is proud to announce our ISTAART journal club on Oct 19th 11amCT hosted, by rising stars Nat Vilor-Tejedor and Mabel Seto. The papers will highlight the roles of 1) the x-chromosome on brain architecture and 2) sex, race, and APOE on cognition.

For #NPAW2023 we’re honoring the Head Lab postdoc stars! Dr. Lorena Sordo is a veterinary scientist with an MSc & PhD from The University of Edinburgh. Her research includes neuropathology, biomarkers, and natural animal models to study AD. Lorena Sordo has also received BrightFocus Foundation awards!

Our lab received a small grant from Alzheimer's Association to expand our work studying the impact of coronavirus infection on onset and severity of Alzheimer’s disease pathology in mouse models developed by MODEL-AD! 🥳
