Honoured to meet H.E. Amb. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mawlid at the Saudi Embassy in Mogadishu for a warm and constructive exchange. We discussed the development of the new World Food Programme Country Strategic Plan and the value of school feeding as an investment in education and food security.

Vibrant discussions today on UN in Somalia #UNSDCF with DPM Salah Jama opening and Hon. Mohamud Beenebeene MoPIED cochairing - on the final year of the current Cooperation Framework, and the prioritization of UN support for the #NTP2025_2029 and #Vision2060.

Today from the #SOFI2025 presentation at #UNFSS2025. My main takeaway: the future of food security in Africa lies in transforming food systems from the ground up - moving from vulnerability to progress. World Food Programme’s work in Somalia is rooted in the daily realities of those we serve.

A powerful World Food Programme team ready to listen and contribute to the #UNFSS2025 side event on Country Perspectives: Government-Led Strategies & Regional Frameworks in which we’re honored to hear from HE DPM of Somalia, Salah Jama as well as reps from Nigeria and Chad.

In #Somalia, World Food Programme works with the Ministry of Health & partners to promote #breastfeeding as a life-saving practice. By providing nutritional support & guidance, we ensure that every mother gives her child a healthy start through exclusive breastfeeding & complementary feeding.

A proud day for World Food Programme as we open the Berbera Logistics Hub, a crucial and strategic point for operations in Eastern Africa. Honored to do this jointly with my brother and counterpart from WFP Ethiopia, Zlatan Milišić.

Delighted to be here in #Berbera for the launch of World Food Programme’s new logistics hub! This excellent new facility is set to be a game changer in creating an enabling environment for World Food Programme to reach those most in need in #Ethiopia & across the region.

Congratulations World Food Programme and El-Khidir Daloum on opening the #Berbera Logistics Hub, further boosting regional economic integration. The #UK is proud to have invested in Berbera - an important, strategic corridor to eastern #Africa.

Great honor to meet today with HE H.E Ilyas Osman Lugatoor and his team of esteemed ministers. Together with our govt partners, we’re committed to supporting people through crisis and beyond. Puntland’s potential for resilience and recovery is real and we’re here to help make it happen.

As the largest humanitarian agency in Somalia, World Food Programme delivers emergency food and recovery support to even the hardest-to-reach areas. However, as critical needs rise, funding shortfalls are forcing us to leave the vast majority of people without any support.

As drought in the north forces families to sell their assets or survive on one meal a day, conflict in the south is displacing hundreds of thousands. World Food Programme is responding to the growing emergency needs, but funding gaps are forcing to leave the vast majority without any support.

Privileged to join today’s World Humanitarian Day commemoration, honouring the courage, service, & sacrifice of humanitarians in #Somalia & around the world, alongside government, donors, the UN in Somalia, NGOs, & partners from across the humanitarian community. #WHD2025

1/4 Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim inaugurated a two-day national stakeholder consultation workshop focused on developing an Anticipatory Action Roadmap for #Somalia.

Participated in this week's SODMA Somalia-led national consultation for Somalia's Anticipatory Action Roadmap, focusing on early warning, early action & coordination. World Food Programme remains committed to working with government & partners to strengthen disaster preparedness in #Somalia.
