I just came across an advert for a London-based clinical trial which says it is testing a "new medicine for treating autism spectrum disorder (ASD)." There's no info on what "treating ASD" entails. It's shocked me a bit to see this - am I being naïve?

Helpful thread. It's sad to see much-needed mental health reforms put at risk due to media narratives surrounding a recent tragic case. "Getting help", for yourself or others, is extremely difficult when it comes to mental illness in the UK.

Something that might be relevant to some of my mutuals on here. My colleague is looking for responses from people who carried out PhD research on a topic they had experienced themselves. Could be particularly relevant to people with lived experience of mental illness.

It is horrific to see how Gaza has been utterly destroyed over the last 12 months. I appreciate these people with disabilities talking about their experiences. How they used to focus on studying and goals for the future, but now they focus on finding water and food.
