I find learners often get confused about superiority vs non-inferiority testing. Here's 3 slides I made to (hopefully) demystify it:

🧠 AI is here now: • Ambient listening creates clinical notes • AI interprets radiographs & ECGs → But how do we teach in the age of AI?

🎓 Dr. Simon Carley breaks it down into 4 domains: Information • Probabilistic knowledge • Choosing the right “temperature” • Critical appraisal of AI output

Answers • Is it correct? • Is it quality? → Learners need the skills to evaluate, not just accept

Alignment • AI must follow an appropriate reasoning path • Misalignment = hallucinations or superficially correct answers

Assessment • How do we assess learners fairly when AI is in the room (or browser)? • Are we evaluating knowledge, skill, or AI usage?
