The #3rdAfricaWSSRegulatorsConference has officially been opened by, the Honorable Minister of Water and Sanitation, Honorable Abida Sidik Mia – M.P. in Blantyre, Malawi.

In her presentation #3rdAfricaWSSRegulatorsConference, The Executive Secretary, presented that "adapting regulation requires putting in place mechanisms that can mitigate negative effects while taking opportunity of positive influencers to drive improvements in WSS services

In his keynote address, Mr Mtchera Chirwa African Development Bank Group highlighted the importance of strengthening resilience against global shocks, like COVID-19 and future pandemics. He emphasized that utilities and service providers should be equipped to maintain and scale up service delivery

The Executive Director AfWASA appreciated the concept of adaptive regulation as a pivotal strategy to address the unpredictable challenges facing WSS with a need to tailor regulatory frameworks for the demands of rural and urban settings and small,medium,and large operators
