The Acute SLT team at Colchester Hospital have been busy with Swallowing Awareness Day, promoting awareness and offering modified diet / fluids with a stand outside the canteen, and then all of the team spun a wheel at random and had different modified diet / fluids for the day!

The Acute Speech and Language Therapy team at Colchester Hospital spent their day on the 19th of March promoting Swallowing Awareness. They portrayed all of the amazing work they do with people who have difficulties swallowing, by providing samples of modified diets / fluids.

To promote Swallowing Awareness Day, Stroke Consultants Dr Ngeh and Dr Saksena sampled some of the texture modified diets often eaten by their patients with swallowing difficulties. Through this, they were able to be educated more surrounding IDDSI and swallowing rehab.
