6/ Eunice Stallman, MD then contacts an investigative journalist who notified BC of her involvement and requested appeal documents. Within hours of being contacted, BC approved Lorlatinib with a $5k/month copay and a letter that Zoey will have to undergo review again in 90 days.

7/ Doctors expect Zoey will need this drug for 6m-1y to shrink the tumor enough for surgery, costing the family an astronomical amount IF Blue Cross of Idaho even approves it past 90 days at all.

This is the classic (and morally reprehensible) playbook, Blue Cross of Idaho 1) deny 2) deflect 3) delay And throughout, while you hide behind the pretense of financial stewardship, you are callously spending the precious currency the patient and their family truly lack: time

Hi Blue Cross of Idaho. This is my daughter that you tried to deny care for. When a team of expert Drs recommend a treatment, your PharmD reviewers don’t get to deny her life-saving care for your profits. Your alternative rec: “Talk with your child’s Dr about other options”. What?!

Hey Blue Cross of Idaho do your job please. Immediately. Like right now.

May you never see this MRI or scar in your own baby and experience the hell we are going through firsthand, reviewers Blue Cross of Idaho. But while you are denying others’ care from the comfort of your office, removed from it all, please remember you are toying with a LIFE here.

An infant brain tumor is always urgent. Always. Her Drs know that. We, as her parents, know that as we watch her continue to have seizures through her keppra. Her Drs acted fast. You were the slowest part of the process. By far. How does that sit, Blue Cross of Idaho?

In these very rare pediatric cancers, there is no “standard of care” bc not enough pts for clinical trials. Trust the experts @stlukeshealth Seattle Children's Nationwide Children's Hospital -I’ve trained at all 3 - and the evidence/guidelines in her path report by ASCO @pathologists Association for Molecular Pathology

A huge part of our medical training is recognizing what we don’t know and who to consult for expertise. This should have gone straight to a practicing pediatric neuro-oncologist who would have known the literature and approved without question. This is a peer. Blue Cross of Idaho

We called daily and spent hrs on phone. We had to take time off work daily. We utilized every personal and professional connection we had to reach an acceptable outcome. Go through your call recordings Blue Cross of Idaho. Not everyone is so lucky to have a voice or use their voice.

You took away time and energy that we desperately needed to care for Zoey and our family. You took away time from my job taking care of my patients. How will you make this right Blue Cross of Idaho ? Many looking at you. #StandUpForZoey #StandUpForAll

1/Amazing news for those following #StandUpForZoey and Eunice Stallman, MD’s journey. After Blue Cross of Idaho tried to deny cancer treatment, Zoey has been on treatment for 4w with PHENOMENAL results! Tumor shrunk significantly and Drs say her response is “more than anyone had hoped for”.

Spoke to the “peer” Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield provided today, who was a pharmacist with no speciality training in oncology. She refused to approved my request to start my patient at a lower dose. They said there is no oncologist I can talk to, which seems illegal. #reformpriorauth

Blue Cross Idaho repeatedly denied doctor-recommended treatment for this baby girl's rare brain cancer - until her mother raised hell. Eunice Stallman, MD MedPage Today medpagetoday.com/special-report…
