Laurence Mulard, head of the Chemistry of Biomolecules lab at Institut Pasteur, since 1887, presented the journey, or adventure, from basic to translational science, for a synthetic glycan-based bacterial vaccine candidate.

For today's last presentation, Tom Brown, leading nucleic acid chemist Oxford Chemistry and co-founder of three biotechs, incl. ATDBio and Primerdesign, shared insights on his entrepreneurial journey and various industry collaborations.

Last evening, the NATURE-ETN group had a reception at the magnificent Chimie ParisTech library, with poster presentations from our ESRs. Thanks a million to the Gasser Group team for organising this!

In the first talk of day 2, we had the privilege to hear from Marie Dutreix from Institut Curie, who shared her drug development journey from bench to bedside, notably through the creation of the start-up DNA Therapeutics.

Nick Farrell VCU, and member of the NATURE-ETN Scientific Advisory Board, introduced us to the 4 Ps of platinum drug development in the clinic, namely Politics, Personalities, Patents, and Pharmacokinetics!
