Yesterday participants started a cycle of study visits on the Foreign Affairs Council organised by European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 We had the privilege to attend the COEST's discussions. Mr. Joachim Knodt also briefed us on the machinery of the FAC, its preparation, and its stakeholders. #EUDiplomacy

As part of a study visit cycle on the FAC, we received a briefing on Coreper and the PSC, and the Nicolaidis process in FAC prep, by Mara Steinberga and Till Blume. We were also briefed On EEAS–Commission cooperation by Angelica Lazar. #EUDiplomacy

We wrapped up our FAC study visit cycle with a briefing from the COELA Chair ahead of the Working Party discussions, which we also attended. We then received an insightful meeting with Simona Gueorguieva on the role of the GSC in the FAC process. #EUDiplomacy
