UN Women, supported by European Union in Kosovo, has launched the first regional database on domestic violence cases, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Justice & key institutions. As we mark 15 years since our establishment, we proudly recognize this milestone achievement in Kosovo.

Kicked off my visit to Gjakovë/ Ðakovica with a meeting with Mayor @ArdianGjini. Discussed local governance, economic development & EU cooperation. Commended his leadership on gender equality & his team's strong engagement in the EU-funded GEF project with UN Women.

Visited the Jakova Innovation Center. With EU and local support, it’s delivering real change with over 250 people trained, 16 small businesses launched & a strong focus on women & marginalized groups in the region. A true example of grassroots impact and inclusivity.

Insightful exchange with Gjakovë/Ðakovica’s business community today. Heard first-hand information about the challenges businesses face & discussed how to enhance dialogue between local businesses, the municipality & the EU to support local economic growth.

Visited the Ethnographic Museum of Gjakovë/Đakovica, a remarkable space showcasing the region’s history, traditions & craftwork. Also walked through Çarshia e Vjetër, the cultural heart of the town. Impressed to witness such a living treasure.

The EU Heads of Missions discussed the situation after the Supreme Court decision. Attacks against individual judges and political interference into judiciary are inacceptable.

I fully echo the view of the EU Heads of Mission. Independence of the judiciary remains a fundamental foundation of the Rule of Law and must be guaranteed.
