It was an honour & a pleasure for the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Dr Annette Weber, and me & our teams to meet with H E President Yoweri K Museveni at State House Uganda, to discuss a number of issues related to security in the region & the situation in South Sudan.
With Zara Mahamat Issa to witness how EU-funded projects support #Sudanese refugees in Adre. This food aid will cover the initial needs of 215k refugees on site, mainly women & children. Proud to back World Food Programme, the main recipient of EU aid funds in Chad, for this a vital operation.
Continuing my regional tour in Uganda🇺🇬, where I was honored to discuss regional dynamics with Yoweri K Museveni. Good exchanges with many incl. Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Uganda 🇺🇬 and Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces as well as 🇪🇺 Ambassadors. Thanks Jan Sadek EU in Uganda for hosting!

I travelled to Juba to discuss the situation in South Sudan🇸🇸. With Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel and others, I expressed 🇪🇺 concern about violations of the peace agreement, need for dialogue and importance of regional efforts. Grateful to Timo Olkkonen_EU 🇪🇺🇺🇦 and EU in South Sudan
