Today, we made a proposal to renew the 2021 UK adequacy decisions for free & safe data flows 📈 This would allow the continued free flow of personal data between the 🇪🇺 EEA and the 🇬🇧 UK beyond December 2025. ℹ️europa.eu/!3ByjMg

🔍The draft decisions conclude that the UK continues to offer data protection safeguards equivalent to those of the EU. These decisions will now be reviewed by the European Data Protection Board and Member States. The European Parliament can also make use of its right to scrutiny.

🤝This step is crucial for businesses, public authorities and individuals on both sides of the Channel. It also helps to keep this vital link open for effective cooperation in criminal justice and law enforcement.
