On 8th April, EU ambassador Imma Roca i Cortés and the Head of cooperation E. Pellacani, met with 13 students from the Centre International de Formation (School of Management and Commerce), studying inter alia International cooperation, for a fruitful exchange on EU affairs.

This week, the EU in The Gambia participated in two events part of its support to the security sector: a launch of a training against maritime drug trafficking and, with GIZ, hand over ceremony of a vehicle for the police to maintain police stations across the country.

On the 6th of May, EU ambassador Roca i Cortés received Mr. Leonardo Santos Simão, Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) to exchange on regional issues and support to The Gambia.

On the 9th of May, the EU and The Gambia held their partnership dialogue under the Samoa agreement, addressing all topics of mutual interest. The dialogue was co-chaired by Hon. Baboucarr O. Joof, Minister of Trade and ambassador Rita Laranjinha Managing Director for Africa.
