Stepping into the biogeochemical world at the IOCCP #SensorsTraining2023 workshop at Kristineberg Center! Great discussions and loads of hands-on training. Impressive organization, inspiring and dedicated instructors, and an enthusiastic, diverse, and fun group of early careers!

Fieldwork day at #IOCCP! ☀️🌊 This week, RBR scientist @OceanMat_ters is helping lead a hands-on #oxygen optode workshop in Sweden. The IOCCP summer training course brings together world leaders in #BGC oceanography to discuss sensors, technology, & data processing techniques.

Now is not a time for me or anyone to comment or speculate on the very serious situation happening at sea right now. My heart goes out to those in the sub, their families, and my OceanGate friends. Hopeful for answers soon.

This has been a difficult week for the submersible community. Deep ocean diving is very safe when industry standard certifications and procedures are followed. I will miss my good friends PH Nargeolet, who I worked with closely, and Hamish Harding, my friend in sea and space.

At #ICOS2024SC, Emily Hammermeister presents results of using novel pH & total alkalinity sensors onboard autonomous platforms. Three deployments presented. Results represent a breakthrough in autonomous marine observations, improving spatio-temporal resolution & cost-efficiency.
