Glasgow City Council intend to withdraw funding from almost half of the GAIN Network (Glasgow Advice and Information Network) taking vital services from local communities in Glasgow!!

Community and third sector orgs have been at the frontline in supporting people through the pandemic's economic storm. That so many of those organisations in Glasgow are to have their funding cut - some to a critical degree - is simply not right. Glasgow City Council must reconsider.

We are facing closure after 46 yrs of serving our local community. GCC are proposing no further funding for Parkhead Citizens Advice Bureau Bridgeton CAB Glasgow Central CAB Castlemilk CAB Castlemilk Law & Money Advice Centre and Dennis MacQuilken. This will wipe out vital advice services in our most deprived communities. #saveourCAB

Today the City Administration Committee decide the funding of organisations across Glasgow. We know Bridgeton CAB Easterhouse CAB Parkhead Citizens Advice Bureau Castlemilk Law & Money Advice Centre , Castlemilk CAB & DMAC are on the list of orgs not to be funded.

Such independence wld ensure that the final report was viewed by all as a robust analysis of the New Community Fund, its processes including application, selection, moving applications to other sectors, weighting system, assessment of finance and amount awarded to name but a few.
