A most impressive innings from 21yr old Asa Tribe on a tricky pitch today. After a good start to his championship season, he has all the attributes of becoming a very good player in 4 and one day mode.

A great spectacle at Lord's, absorbing cricket and top class seam bowling against Steve Smith- one the World's best. Make the most of it before you know what starts in August.

27 wickets have fallen in 2 days at Lord's. Good pitch with, apparently, not so much swing and seam as usual. Must be two teams short of batting practice in their winters.

What a wonderful Test Match and a terrific advert for the traditional game. Well played South Africa- champions of the World at cricket and rugby.

Seven draws and two results in the county championship with the Kookaburra ball that doesn't do anything after 20 overs or so, The bowlers have three more games with this experiment- good luck to them!

Nine centuries and a double hundred in today's championship games, as the bowlers again have to labour with the unpopular Kookaburra ball.

I know many of us are a certain age but County Cricket is excellent for meeting up with friends , watching top class cricketers in a wonderful atmosphere . It’s a fabric of society in the UK … and please, long may it continue. BTW … many young folk at Chesterfield and York

There have been big crowds and a great atmosphere in championship games at the outgrounds this season..Blackpool, Chesterfield, York etc. Let's hope Colwyn Bay returns to Glamorgan's fixture list while St Helen's will be greatly missed.

With three summarisers talking non stop, it hardly gives Miles Harrison time to commentate on the rugby action. The great Richie Benaud always said" let the picture tell the story".

Watched a remarkable win for bottom club Essex who chased down 142 in 12 overs against a star studded Surrey side who included the two Test spinners Zampa from Australia and Santer- New Z. Ten internationals in the Surrey side,

Asa Tribe ramps a six- Tom Curran the fielder confirms it cleared the ropes- a discussion and the umpires say4. Very poor officiating I m afraid.

Whatever the outcome at Lord's,- Jadeja and Stokes have both made enormous contributions to their respective teams. What a Test match!

And now the two teams have to play two more Tests before the end of the month so that a much more inferior competition can start theirs.
