It is with a profound sense of responsibility that I become the new member of parliament for the Buckingham & Bletchley constituency. Thank you to everyone across our towns, villages and city who placed their trust in me on 4th July. I will work tirelessly to repay it.

I still can’t find the local conservatives manifesto for Milton Keynes? Oh there wasn’t one, clearly a lack of vision and ambition from the conservatives.

My first decision as a Cabinet Member. This £65m programme is vital to improve energy efficiency to 1600 homes which reduces energy costs for residents by up to £400.

Despite the challenges of financing new council homes, we are doing so here in Milton Keynes. Next week I will make the decision to go to procurement for these 66 new homes. A big thank you to Emily Darlington MP for getting this going when she was cabinet member.

Great to visit Beacon View in central Bletchley today. Residents will start moving in next month. I'm committed to supporting the Government overhaul our planning system to help more families live in affordable homes. Thanks to Darren, Craig, Tim, Steve & Krassi for the tour!

Locally and nationally, Labour is determined to tackle, reduce and prevent homelessness, and support rough sleepers off our streets.

We’re at an important milestone in building hundreds of new council homes at The Lakes Estate, alongside new facilities and improved green space – we’ll shortly get the keys to the first finished homes so we can start making arrangements for local people to move in.

I’m looking forward to visiting the new homes again later this week to check on the progress. These homes look amazing, are energy efficient and provide good new homes to those who live in Serpantine Court. Handover to the council is next month with the final homes next summer
