BREAKING: Outgoing Defense Minister Yoav Gallant met with the hostage families and reiterated his belief that the IDF's continued presence in Gaza is based on political, not security, considerations. He says they must urge Netanyahu as he is making the decision alone. Under

Suicide by Patti is a real and tragic problem in our industry. If you have the urge to take your cell phone out in front of Patti Lupone, please call someone responsible. I mean, don’t call!! Don’t!!! No. I meant…damn.

European soccer culture can be notoriously racist, and I would not be surprised if some Israeli fans chanted bigoted stuff in Amsterdam. There is video of some taking down a Palestinian flag earlier this week. But of course, this does not justify leading a premeditated mass

Disagree. Gaetz at Justice is the clearest signal of authoritarian intent imaginable. Has no qualifications other than sharing Trump's desire for revenge at the rule of law. He's a clown, to be sure — but plenty of 1930s fascists were clowns too.

Trump consistently chooses something so outrageous that even his allies face a moral choice. A few say this is enough, and they are devoured by the others. It happened with Pence and Barr and Kelly and so many others. Picking Gaetz is another one of those tests, for him.

Today would have been my brother David's 63rd birthday. A few years ago, UTC61 established a prize in his memory. The winner of the 2024 David A. Einhorn Playwriting Prize is Daniel Damiano, who won with his one-act, The Dessert Cart. He will receive $2K and a reading Jan 26.

A year ago I wrote an essay about dangers of treating theater as a means to deal with social problems rather than funding theater its own sake. Couldn't find anyone to publish it. Anyway, with the loss of the MAP Grant, NEFA, and others, it feels relevant. edwardeinhorn.com/blog/theater-f…

This is the greatest justification for why we need congestion pricing. Wealthy CEO outraged because he has to pay $9/day towards public transit or, alternatively, walk for 15 minutes.

The Rehearsal for Truth reading series will feature Once Upon a Time There Was a Rooster, a new play by the Ukranian playwright Anna Halas. It deals with a Ukranian family and a stray Russian soldier. The festival and the legacy of VƔclav Havel is more important than ever.

If you want to understand how the Holocaust has been weaponized to erase Jews from the story of their own murders, this story is instructive: "Cincinnati rabbi disinvited from rally against Nazis" (he failed a progressive purity test on Israel) jta.org/2025/03/07/uni…

As the victim of antisemitic violence related to the protest movement on campus, I want to say two things about it: It is entirely understandable, even reasonable, that people will see the Columbia defunding as somehow protecting Jewish students. It does not.

Yair Rosenberg (@yair_rosenberg) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The purpose of the deportations we have been seeing has not been to fight antisemitism, but rather to use antisemitism as a beachhead to eventually do away with foreign students altogether, using Jews as a pretext for a non-Jewish political agenda.
