With canceled recesses and outdoor sports, air that burns the eyes and our throats, let us not feel that the solutions lie in masks and hepa filters, but let us take this opportunity to look at the upstream causes of climate change and address the drivers.

Increasing health risks from forest fires necessitate upstream solutions to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This means moving away from burning fossil fuels and not building new gas plants. The current and future generations' health depends on it.
