The new Policing and Community Safety Authority held its first meeting yesterday. CEO Helen Hall, Chairperson Elaine Byrne and the Authority were joined by Commissioner Drew Harris and Minister Jim O'Callaghan TD as the Authority set out its vision for policing oversight.

My six year old daughter watched the news today. “They were talking about a place called Gaza” she said. “Why don’t they have any food?” She asked. “The children are hungry”. I didn’t know how to explain this to a child. I don’t have words to explain deliberate hunger.
