Autumn is a good time to use Zolvix to remove the resistant worms that have survived previous treatments & built up in lambs. No two seasons are the same with worm burdens heavily influenced by the weather, so it’s best to carry out regular FEC testing to guide treatment timings.

Levels of haemonchus are rising in the UK & the warmer climate means it can survive almost anywhere. A good quarantine protocol can avoid bringing it on-farm, including: •Use a Group 4 wormer •Keep sheep off pasture for 24-48 hours post-drench •Turn sheep out to dirty pasture

With many farms purchasing stock this autumn, planning an effective quarantine and worming protocol is essential to protect new and existing stock. Administering a quarantine dose of a Group 4 wormer to all incoming stock will help avoid resistant worms being brought on-farm.

A 4-point plan is the best way to manage #liverfluke in cattle & sheep: -Test & treat stock before spring turnout -Reduce mud snail habitats to lower infection risk -Monitor field risk & adjust grazing to avoid high-risk areas -Use the right flukicide for the right stage of fluke

It’s not too late to give replacements and fat lambs a wormer break dose. Most have been treated with Group 1, 2, or 3 wormers, but resistant worms may still be present. Zolvix can clear these out, helping lambs make the most of late-season grass and reach their growth potential.

Bringing new or existing stock onto the farm this autumn? Giving a quarantine dose of Zolvix as part of a wider quarantine programme is key to protecting your existing flock from incoming parasites and disease, ensuring that resistant worms are not brought in with the sheep.

Before drenching lambs, always confirm the need for treatment with a FEC test. When treatment is required, a mid-late season break dose using a Group 4 wormer is recommended to help lambs reach their growth potential and make the most of the late-season grass. Elanco UK Livestock

It’s not too late to give homebred replacements and fat lambs a Group 4 break dose. Benefits include: - Maintaining growth rates by removing worms missed by earlier treatments - Slowing resistance to older wormer groups For more info, consult your vet, RAMA, or sheep consultant.

With continued mild, damp weather, not only is flystrike still a risk, but tick pressure is also increasing, posing health threats to UK flocks by spreading diseases like louping ill and tick-borne fever. For advice, consult your vet, RAMA, or sheep consultant.
