The final leg of our Coast & Castles ride: Local Darren's leading the peloton  Chris, Mohammad & Chris meet 3 local dignitaries  Alfresco lunch in Tuscany - sorry, Flint! A tumultuous welcome from the multitude awaiting them in Chester (A dozen is a multitude isn't it?)

Peter needed to top up his supplies yesterday, so what's a Crank to do? He got on his bike obviously, Rochdale to Wythenshawe Transplant Centre and back, a nice 45 mile ride to loosen up after last week's Big Adventure ride Go Crank!

Crank Paul's longest ride so far, 24 miles around the Cheshire flatlands with Ian & Chris M Starting at Brereton Heath, the Cranks paused for refreshment stops at both Holmes Chapel & Jodrell Bank. A successful ride, but is Paul now ready for Rochdale? - over to you Peter!

The ‘We Are Undefeatable in Blackburn with Darwen’ team, was so impressed with Crank Bob’s health recovery they have now adopted him as their new poster boy and are using his story to inspire those living with a range of long-term health conditions to become active. Go Bob!

Cranks Chris L, Ian & Luca out in the Peak District again 30 miles around Hope Valley, Winnats Pass, Peak Forest, Dove Holes, & Tideswell Starting with a Full English & finishing in local pub A perfect day all round 😀 The Electric Cranks – ‘Fun, Freedom & Friendship’ Go Cranks!

Cranks Chris L, Chris M & Luca celebrated Halloween with another Peak District circular including Bonsall, Middleton, Crich and then up - YES UP! - onto the High Peak Trail 31 miles, 2800 ft & finishing at twilight – a triumph of endurance over planning obviously! Go Cranks!

Cranks Chris, Ian, Peter & Luca out on the coldest day of the winter. Starting at Minninglow on the High Peak Trail, their 31 miles, 3000ft circular route included Middleton & Bonsall. All completed both before dark & critically before the snow arrived! Go Cranks!

The morning after the New Start Xmas do Too wild for cycling so intrepid Cranks, Chris & Luca, hiked Wildboarclough & ascended Shutlingsloe Hill, the Matterhorn of Cheshire, in the bleakest of conditions. Rusty the dog wondered what they were making such a fuss about Go Rusty!

Prof Venkat’s last LVAD Café yesterday & we gave him a special sports shirt to wear with his Cranks jersey on his rides in the USA! Maybe this stunning design will even inspire the Alabama Transplant Centre patients to establish their very own Cranks gruppetto - here's hoping.

A mass send-off for the Prof from the Electric Cranks at Wythenshawe Transplant centre yesterday. Without him the Cranks wouldn’t even exist. So, Prof Venkat will always be our No. 1 Good luck in the USA Prof and we hope our cycle paths cross again soon!

The BSH were delighted to attend and support the parliamentary event ‘Driving improvements in care and outcomes for people with heart failure’ at the House of Commons earlier today. We must work together in order to make #HeartFailure a national priority. #25in25

Cranks Chris L, Chris M, Ian & Paul (all HM3 patients) decided it was too wintery to go for a ride around the Peak District today, so they went indoors for a wonderful game of Pickleball - it’s more energetic than it looks. Could this be the birth of the Electric Pickles?

Intrepid Crank Luca (HM3) braved the wintry elements today and completed an heroic solo Peak District ride, 50 miles with 4,300 ft elevation. The mainly off-road ride included the Derwent, aka Dambusters, Valley, Stepping Stone Bridge & Tin Town. Go Crank Luca 👏

Cranks Bob & Ged were both speaking in the House of Commons last week in support of the British Society for Heart Failure’s ‘25 in 25’ initiative. The BSH is committed to reducing heart failure deaths by 25% over the next 25 years, saving 10,000 lives annually. Go Cranks!

Despite the cold conditions last week Crank Bob was out for his longest ride for the last 6 months. 25 miles & 2,000 feet ascent via Blackburn, Mellor Brook, Samlesbury Bottoms & Brockholes Nature Reserve. Onwards & upwards Bob. Go Crank!

Mohammad & Peter out and about around Deeply Vale, Castleton & Healy Dell In Ding Quarry, Peter's thinking “What kind of route is this Mohammad?” Up on Rooley Moor, Mohammad's thinking “Where’s Peter gone? He didn’t go down into that quarry did he? 23 miles, 2000ft Go Cranks!

Cranks out & about in the Peak District again Luca, Chris L, Chris M & Ian headed past the Croatian hut on the Tissington Trail & called in at Parsley Hey for some well-earned refreshment. They even recruited a new Dino-Crank along the way! 29 miles & 3,000 ft - Go Cranks!

Only 7 weeks until the intrepid Electric Crank’s 110 mile Northumberland Coast New Start Charity ride from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Tyneside. Then, it's on to the Freeman Institute of Transplantation, where Andy's famous Lemon Drizzle cake awaits us 😋 17th to 19th June 2025
