🎉🌟We're thrilled to share that Australian Centre Accelerating Diabetes Innovation has secured a groundbreaking grant funded by the Federal Government's MRFF Preventive and Public Health Research Initiative, under the leadership of Professor Prof Elif Ekinci and Mariam Hachem

This grant will evaluate the impact of flash glucose monitoring devices in enhancing face-to-face care for Indigenous Australians with type 2 diabetes. Building on FlashGM Study we will use a health systems approach to identify the barriers & enablers of this digital innovation.

We aim to provide essential evidence for the widespread adoption & implementation of flash glucose monitoring tech in the Australian healthcare setting. This initiative marks a significant stride towards improving diabetes management & health outcomes for Indigenous communities.

Revolutionizing Diabetes Management: Protein Intervention for Exercise-Induced Hypoglycaemia in Type 1 Diabetes 🎉 We are excited to announce a new addition to the ACADI portfolio. Dr Dale Morrison leads innovative research into minimising exercise-induced hypoglycaemia. 1/6

🔎 The Challenge: Despite recent advances in technology, exercise remains a challenge for the diabetes community due to variability in circulating insulin levels. 2/6

🔬 Project Overview: This groundbreaking research explores the use of whey protein to combat hypoglycaemia during exercise. If successful, the approach offers a real-world, cost-effective, and side-effect-free solution, aligning with sports nutrition guidelines. 3/6

📚 Research Highlights Three studies will explore timing, dosing, and real-life applications, aiming to prevent hypoglycaemia during exercise. 4/6
