Today marks three years since Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. Three years since the largest series of antiracist demonstrations in history, followed by one of the most concerted racist movements to demonize and ban antiracist work in history. 📸 AFP

3 years ago today, we witnessed the brutal murder of George Floyd at the hands of the police. May we remember, honor, and continue the struggle to overcome white supremacist policing of Black and brown people. And may we continue to push for racial justice every day.

To strengthen our movement, we must tell our own affirmative stories -- not just react to harmful, dominant narratives. 🗣 What are the narrative interventions that inspire you? Read about some of ours here: opportunityagenda.org/messaging_repo… #shiftthenarrative #creativechange

Any movement requires an uneasy pairing: IMPATIENCE, and a refusal to accept the status quo, and PATIENCE, the kind needed to stay the course, sometimes for decades. #MakingGayHistory Season 12, “Coming of Age During the 1970s,” is now streaming! 1/4 🔊 bit.ly/mgh-season12

Look at these brave and inspiring kids! So proud of them- and the play’s producer (who happens to be my son’s former math tutor). ⁦Nathan Gotsch⁩ Their high school canceled an LGBTQ play. These teens put it on anyway. washingtonpost.com/education/2023…

Stonewall was a riot protesting police violence and systemic oppression. It was led by trans women of color. Let us rise up to honor their legacy this #PrideMonth and make it clear that #BlackLivesMatter!

Happy Pride Month! 🌈 reminder as we head into this wonderful month that the commercial visibility of Pride over the past few years has often excluded the voices of those most marginalized. 💗

As we kick off #PrideMonth, remember Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera did not ASK politely for their rights. Stonewall was a riot - rising up against police brutality. We will not ask for liberation. We fight for what is ours. We demand LGBTQ+ liberation and racial justice.

Our communities depend on federal judges and justices to fairly administer justice for all people. Congress must immediately address the ongoing judicial ethics crisis and ensure that our Supreme Court lives up to its sacred promise. #EthicsReformNow civilrights.org/blog/building-…

SCOTUS's decision to gut #affirmativeaction is based on a narrow agenda that discourages opportunity in higher education for all students. We will not let this court defer the dreams of Black and brown students to a white supremacist vision for our country!

Howard Zinn: "It would be naïve to depend on the Supreme Court to defend the rights of poor people, women, people of color, dissenters... Those rights only come alive when citizens organize, protest, demonstrate, strike, boycott, rebel, and violate the law...to uphold justice" 1/
