Today I voted to removeĀ women from the 1861 criminal law on abortion, so that women will no longer be prosecuted for acting to end their own pregnancy. I’mĀ proud to be part of this long-overdue victory for women’s rights and bodily autonomy.

The govt claims to care about disabled people’s dignity while planning to slash PIP, which serve as a lifeline for so many. Why not commit to raising funds by taxing wealth fairly, rather than balancing the books on the backs of vulnerableĀ people?

The rise of Reform UK is a real threat to democracy — and only the Greens have the trust and integrity to beat them. Adrian and I are hosting an event on 8 July with Greens who’ve already done it. Join us to learn how. Tue 8 July, 8PM ellie-adrian-2025.org/events #TogetherWeWin

Today I chaired a cross-party Water Pollution APPG session on the interim report of the Independent Water Commission. MPs questioned Sir Jon Cunliffe on issues including regulatory failings, the need to address both agricultural and sewage pollution, & the case for public ownership.

Moving fast and breaking things didn't work well in Iraq in 2003 and won't work any better in Iran in 2025. The UK must not get dragged into supporting an illegal war.

Wealth tax is an idea with huge public support. Brilliant to meet with Patriotic Millionaires to discuss how a wealth tax could raise billions to fund public services that benefit everyone! The UK is hugely unequal; taxing wealth will make society fairer.

Thanks Richard! I love what you said here: radical inclusive politics and experience of what it takes to win. You're right: Greens can win anywhere! Let’s keep proving it.

Agricultural pollution is the main source of pollution in the UK—so why does the govt continually omit references to it when discussing pollution? If we’re going to get serious about protecting our waterways, we need to invest in river-friendly farming,Ā urgently.

On #WorldRefugeeDay2025 I pay tribute to organisations like Refugee Action and Freedom from Torture🧔 and the compassionate people in my constituency who provide support to those who’ve had to flee their homes in fear of their lives. Refugees need safe & legal routes, notĀ demonisation.

I welcome the govt’s expansion of the Warm Home Discount. But we can’t stop there; we need far more investment in upgrading homes to ensure they are truly future-proofed, and a commitment to zero-carbon housing in the Future Homes Standard. #HomesFitForTheFuture
